This exhibition showcases examples of recent projects and finished previous works from the makers and is a celebration of the current innovative maker culture within the city of Glasgow, uncovering invention, creativity, resourcefulness and a make do and mend approach to problems of everyday life. With Martin Campbell (www.ragandboneworkshop.co.uk) and Kevin Morris (http://kevinandrewmorris.daportfolio.com/)
Earlier this year I was up at the Concrete Garden near Possil Park helping to design and make this pedal power compost sifter. Lots of nice folk up there and a great garden! http://www.concretegarden.org.uk
I just made my first attempt at a recumbent bicycle!
New box bike just finished! I made it in exchange for doing the permaculture design course run by Lusi Aldersloe at Urban Roots in Toryglen.
We’ve been up at 69 chapel street for the quick and dirty trailer workshop. Come along every thursday and make your own trailer for free! click the picture to see more. Also check out http://www.freewheelnorth.org.uk/
I was through in edinburgh for the Mini Maker Faire with Hannah and Martin. Together we did the ‘Rapid Protobike’ workshop. The challenge was to make a bike in a few hours using scrap wood, Martins thermosetting plastic and Hannah’s pedal power sewing machine. Great fun and it was great to get lots of people involved making stuff!
